Contemporary generative artificial intelligences in art, photography, film, literature and music arouse astonishment, fear, enthusiasm or skepticism, and are developing at an accelerated pace in all areas of culture and science. In the latent spaces of immense mathematical matrices, networks of artificial neurons understand the world as a code and begin to teach themselves how to produce images and sounds, write, translate and speak.
Le Monde selon l'IA explores the ways in which contemporary artists have mobilized these artificial intelligences over the last decade, with both critical and experimental aims.
From “Analytical AI” to “Generative AI”, the exhibition examines these new tools, which enable us to rethink and renew creative processes while shedding light on the way machines see and inhabit the world. The exhibition features works - some of them previously unseen - by French and international artists who have approached the new AI technologies from different perspectives: Kate Crawford & Vladan Joler, Fabien Giraud, Agnieszka Kurant, Christian Marclay, Trevor Paglen, Hito Steyerl...
