LAURA HENNO - GE OURYAO ! POURQUOI T’AS PEUR !
15/04/2022 - 04/09/2022
Palais de Tokyo
13, avenue du Président Wilson
75116 Paris
Laureate of the SAM Prize for Contemporary Art 2019, Laura Henno presents an ensemble of films and photographs created between 2016 and 2022 in the Comoros Islands. The exhibition is the culmination of nearly ten years of work and immersion in an island territory riven by migration policy and the omnipresent legacy of colonialism. By following Patron, a boy who lives on the sea as an apprentice people smuggler, Henno met Smogi, a figure with singular links to the power of the elements and the spirits that inhabit the forest. In her last film, she brings these lives into resonance with those of a group of adolescents who live with their dogs on the fringes of society, in the liminal spaces defined by waiting and wandering.
