La Galerie Rouge presents « Kenneth Josephson, Working the Photograph », the first solo show in France of American photographer. A pioneer in Conceptual Photography, Josephson created a photography that takes as its subject the medium itself. Always with great wit and humour, Josephson is playing with ideas and photographs in order to questions our traditional views on what a photography is supposed to represent. At the end, Kenneth Josephson reveals us that photography has to be considered above all as an object and not as a reflexion of reality. During his career, he has developed a few categories/series of photographs that are display in the exhibition. With Marks & Evidences, Josephson takes pictures of human or natural marks and question their nature - Are they real? Are they man-made?
