Bigaignon Gallery presents “Hideyuki Ishibashi – Portraits”, a series exploring history, memory, and photography’s connection to time.
Following the rediscovery of 240 ceramic grenades buried near a Kyoto pottery factory since World War II, Ishibashi captures their traces through cyanotype shadows and gum bichromate prints made from the site’s earth and soot. His images exist between presence and absence, revealing the weight of time.
The exhibition features 50 prints, reconstructing this lost history through a visual narrative of tradition, war, and memory.
