A flamboyant and visionary figure of international fashion, Gianni Versace marked his era with a daring aesthetic where glamour, sensuality, and baroque opulence converge. Starting on June 5 and throughout the summer of 2026, Paris, the global capital of fashion, will host at the Maillol Museum the first major French retrospective dedicated to the designer since 1986. The Gianni Versace Retrospective gathers nearly 450 exceptional pieces: original creations and silhouettes, accessories, sketches, decorative objects, photographs, videos, and rare interviews offer a comprehensive overview of Gianni Versace's work. In a decidedly pop scenography, the exhibition traces an entire career dedicated to creation and reveals the multiple inspirations that have shaped Versace's universe: his beginnings in the family workshop in Calabria, the iconography of Catholic religion, the influence of Greek sculpture, Italian opera, as well as his fascination with the baroque and its opulent prints.
