This fall 28 Vignon Street celebrate the long awaited reopening of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts (KMSKA) in Antwerp. The museum opens its doors to the public on 24 September 2022 after a 10 year closing during which it has been undergoing a radical rebuilding and expansion.

For the occasion, they will present an online exhibition of photographs the German artist Friederike von Rauch took of the museum in 2011. For her series ‘In Secret’ (2009-13) von Rauch explored European museums after the regular opening times, in serenity and solitude. With a superb eye for the beauty and inconsistencies of inconspicuous details, the artist presents astounding views of interior spaces. Her compositions of light and shadow, devoid of people, disclose a subtle artistic aesthetic and are at times evocative of abstract painting. Seen from von Rauch's point of view, dark alcoves, bare walls, individual objects, and traces of the human hand develop a life of their own while at the same time allowing space for interpretation.
