A word of warning: any resemblance to an existing landscape is entirely coincidental. In Grisor's paintings, it is the imagination that constructs an almost photographic reality. Although he uses vernacular markers that the collective unconscious often associates with American landscapes, such as palm trees, azure desert skies, large buildings and stylised signs, his latest paintings on canvas are born of his own everyday mythologies, nourished by the vibrations of the 'contemporary' world.
It would be an understatement to say that his work is distinguished by the exacting technical demands that the artist places at the service of his vision, with the precision of a goldsmith. To see this for yourself, all you have to do is pay close attention to his rendering of light and texture, and his tireless attention to detail. In the background, he conveys his capacity for wonder, a fundamental notion here. Some may prefer the term hypervausibility rather than hyperrealism to describe Grisor's style. The fact remains that these paintings generate a formal evidence that establishes an immediate communication with the viewer.
