This year, Antwan Horfee is inviting us to explore his world and share his energy. After exhibiting in Brussels, New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, and Stockholm, the artist is coming back to his hometown Paris.
This exhibition is entitled after the French animated series “Les Shadoks” (1968-73) created by Jacques Rouxel, featuring the work of Jean-Paul Couturier with the famous voice of Claude Piéplu. [To go to Earth, the “Shadoks” have built a rocket that works with a special fuel called the “COSMOGOL 999”. They need to extract enough fuel for the rocket to be able to take off.]. Antwan Horfee shows us many phenomena coming to life here and there.
The artist draws a parallel between the creative energy and the historical Cosmogol as an emancipatory projection or its anticipation. With sarcasm, he puts on the hat of the “lyrical musketeer” artist and, once dressed up, dares to ask ancestral questions out loud.
