We are pleased to present No Two Alike, an exhibition of pairs of the same images by artist Aaron Siskind. Known as an abstract expressionist photographer, Siskind’s prints can vary greatly depending on his mood on a given day in the darkroom. A master technician, his printing style can also be best described as expressive: Siskind knew that a single image could and should be represented in different ways, and that an image’s meaning can change simply by an adjustment in tonality, lightness, or a deepening of shadow. This type of investigation was common for Siskind, who always pushing the boundaries of how photograph could look, be, and say. On view at the gallery will be over 20 beautifully rendered pairs of vintage prints by Siskind.
