"When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, I was forced to leave my hometown of Kharkiv and travel to the west of the country. Aware that the war would be heavily documented by a large number of photographers and media outlets, I decided to look for new ways to depict the consequences of this invasion; this is how the 100 Days of War project was born. What initially stemmed from an intuitive desire to document my experience of war and the uncertainty it created has transformed into something broader: a reflection on the notions of home, identity, and displacement. While the work literally describes the sudden evacuation of my family and the aftermath of this brutal Russian attack, it also seeks to question the language of photography itself and its limitations in terms of documentation, representation, and impact on conflicts."
