From the eighties, the face of France changed and the country became a territory'; it was a moment when several major sponsors invited photographers to account for the transformation of the national landscape. The taste for the picturesque fades in favour of works that focus both on cultural heritage and elements of everyday life. In a few words, these photographers enter the debate to propose a renewed and poetic vision of the world. This exhibition presents the works by nearly 150 artists; it highlights some of the major collections of the BnF, among which the famous Mission photographique de la DATAR', here presented with other essential photographs on the theme of contemporary landscapes.
