Mar 28, 2017 — Sep 10, 2017
Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration
293, avenue Daumesnil
With the exhibition Ciao Italia!, the Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration, for the first time at a national level, recounts the history of Italian immigration in France, which remains the biggest wave of immigration to date in the country.
Reflecting both distrust and desire, violence and passion, rejection and integration, the exhibition presents the particular contradictions of the history of this immigration, while highlighting the contribution of Italians to French society and culture.
Almost 400 items from the past are presented to establish a pedagogical, sensitive tour featuring artists Giovanni Boldini, Giuseppe de Nittis, Gino Severini, Renato Paresce, Amedeo Modigliani, etc.
